Synopsis

Ren Amamiya, a new transfer student at Shujin Academy, is sent to Tokyo to live with his family friend Sojiro Sakura after wrongly being put on probation for defending a woman from sexual assault. While on the way to attend his first day at his new school, Ren notices a strange app has appeared on his phone, transferring him to a world known as the Metaverse, which contains people's "shadows": distorted depictions of their true selves. In the Metaverse, he awakens his Persona, a power from deep within that gives him the strength to fight the shadows. With the help of similarly troubled students, he forms the Phantom Thieves of Hearts, attempting to save people from their sinful desires by "taking their heart," making evildoers regret their actions and turn over a new leaf. The group's reputation continues to grow explosively, bringing along fame both positive and negative.

However, during the peak of their popularity, Ren gets captured and taken into custody. Here, he wakes up to a harsh interrogation, but this is cut short by the arrival of Sae Niijima—a prosecutor seeking answers. Just how will she react to his story, and what will become of the Phantom Thieves?

Trust me, this show is definitely worth spending time to watch. P5 is so underrated, i mean that it's so goodddd. I've through many anime and Persona series some of the greatest in my heart.
The story is pretty interesting and the animation was good, they are cool to me. The main character isnt as fire as other mc but his personality hits well, he isnt smart and powerful as I expected but give it a try, why not?
Gotta say, stay calm and patient watching the whole show, some scene was boring af and they continue on every single episode but if you put your imagination ...

Mixed Feelings
This one I watched more as background noise than an attentive, active content consumption™. Therefore, this is not a full blown analysis more than it is a impression that may help you decide to watch it or not (no spoilers)

I never played the Persona 5 game, and it's obvious that the history, world, combat and characters are better suited for a videogame rather than an anime, but the story holds up pretty well still and it's a fun watch. The character's are fun, if not very deep, and the way it utilizes many aspects of japanese society into villains and character arcs are pretty cool.

The ...

I’ve been familiar with the Shin Megami Tensei: Persona game franchise for a long time (back when we used to call it that, before it was simplified to just Persona), and I believe that, so far, its fifth installment has been the most well-received.

I watched the anime adaptation long before I ever played the game—fully aware that it’s nearly impossible for an anime to match the experience that a hundred hours of gameplay can offer—and I was left slightly disappointed.

I don’t think it has a particularly subtle script (neither the game nor the anime), but it’s easy to empathize with the characters’ goal: to change ...

The Seasonal Quarterly: Spring 2018 (Part 2)

Although it still feels like it only just started, we are now somehow halfway through the Spring 2018 anime season already, and trends are now clearly starting to emerge. In the past three weeks, Boku no Hero Academia returns to prominence, Persona 5 sinks like a stone and more.
