Circlet Princess

Virtual Reality and the arrival of Circlet Technology has changed people's lives. A new competitive electronic sport called Circlet Bout emerges, and schools duel to determine the strongest Circlet Bout Club and player. One day, Yuuka Sasaki gets mistaken for a challenger and battles against Chikage Fujimura, the best player in Japan, tying the intense fight despite her inexperience. These events lead to her ion for the sport, deciding to become a Circlet Bout player.

Two years later, Yuuka moves to Tokyo and enrolls in Union School, a place where she can practice and pursue her dream of fighting Chikage again. After her arrival at the Union School, she discovers the club closed. Now her first goal is to help the athletic Miyuki Kasahara and club manager Ayumu Aizawa reopen Union's Circle Bout Club and return it to its former glory.

Mixed Feelings

'Circlet Princess' has some very fun and cute moments, even better than the action that the anime proposes. Yuuka's obsession with sour plums that no one else can stand for her to eat with a straight face is particularly funny and goes hand in hand with Nina's endless snacks and the silly anguish noises that girls make.


The characters in 'Circlet Princess' may have a wide variety of hair colors and battle styles, but their designs are very similar to each other. Circlet Bout's armor adds a special touch and the variety of weapons keeps fights fresh, but the overall designs don't stand out.

On the plot ... of 'Circlet Princess', she is ok, nothing very new. But Circlet sport is an unregulated mess. This frustrated me a little, because sport is the great character of anime, besides this problem, the whole atmosphere of virtual reality is interpreted in a very poor way.


'Circlet Princess' is hampered by its limited budget. The anime is about a sport that revolves around fighting, and fighting requires animated sequences to meet action requirements. Lower budget means less of this and more cuts on people's faces, dialogue during fights and other tricks to try and take action without really showing action.


Overall, 'Circlet Princess' is what I would consider an anime to be slightly below average. The story and comprehensive characters are not at all exciting, due to the anime budget, much of the action also fell short. It's a good time-killing anime, if you don't have anything else to watch, but I wouldn't recommend watching this with so many other anime out there.

Mixed Feelings

If you don't know already, circlet princess failed to be picked up for localization. Therefore if you wanted to watch it you had to do so through some, not so legal, means with a fansub. That or you have connections of some kind. In the end, no one talked about it.

It is about yuka, a country girl that went to the city on scholarship. While she was there she learned about a new sport and through a misunderstanding she fights the champion. After that she is determined to fight her again. Stuff happens and eventually she a tournament with a new team in order ... to try again.

It a rather basic plot if you really think about it but it is handled well. But there isnt much to talk about. Watch the girls and what happens as they try to win.

The art and animation is unremarkable, not bad but doesnt stand out in anyway. It just gets the job done as for the characters as well.

In the end, try it out, it a good time waster anime or just a simple guilty pleasure

show was really bad only watched for fan service. plot did not make sense and some bits were unnecessary. its just like any other show dont watch unless youre a horny mf. its bad. the characters follow common tropes. ending was boring. after episode 6 a weird arc started that didnt contribute to the show and was boring. please do not watch unless want fan service. amumu is best girl in this show. i have to make this longer so i will repeat do not watch. amumu best girl worst girl is mc. dont know her name thats how forgettable the mc is.
