Enen no Shouboutai: Ni no Shou

After his confrontation in the Nether with his younger brother Shou, Shinra Kusakabe's resolve to become a hero that saves lives from the flame terror strengthens. Finding a way to turn the Infernals back into people, unraveling the mystery of the Evangelist and Adolla Burst, and saving his mother and Shou—these are the goals Shinra has in mind. However, he has come to realize that attaining these goals will not be easy, especially with the imminent danger the Evangelist poses.

The Evangelist's plan is clear: to gather the eight pillars—the individuals who possess Adolla Burst—and sacrifice them to recreate the Great Cataclysm from 250 years ago. Having been revealed by the First Pillar that the birth of a new pillar is approaching, Shinra is determined to protect his fellow pillars from the Evangelist. Thus, the fiery battle between the Special Fire Force and the Evangelist ignites. Together with the Special Fire Force, Shinra's fight continues as he uncovers the truth about the Great Cataclysm and the nature of Adolla Bursts, as well as the mysteries behind human combustion.

Fire Force Season 2 picks up right where the first season left off, continuing its explosive action, intense firefights, and thrilling story. The animation and sound design remain just as outstanding as in the first season, with David Production once again delivering top-tier visuals and crisp, impactful sound effects that make every battle feel alive. The fight scenes are an absolute highlight, filled with dynamic choreography, creative abilities, and stunning animation that make each encounter a spectacle.

One of the things I loved most about this season was the expansion of the cast and the allies gathered along the way. Every new addition to ... the Fire Force team added something meaningful to the story, and I appreciated how the series took the time to flesh out the characters rather than just throwing them into fights. It was great to see the entire cast get moments to shine, and the character growth across the board was incredibly satisfying.

Benimaru, in particular, stood out to me as the absolute best character this season. He’s just pure badassery—his strength, no-nonsense attitude, and incredible fighting prowess make him a scene-stealer every time he appears. Watching him in action was a treat, and his role in the story only solidified his spot as my favorite character in the series.

Overall, Fire Force Season 2 was a blast to watch. The action, animation, and soundtrack delivered just as strongly as before, and the character development made it an even more engaging experience. If the series continues this momentum, I can’t wait to see where it goes next.

Mixed Feelings

A crap load of forced humor in this season by far. They give more attention to Arthur's delusion as a Knight of the round to the point where it loses it humor. There is even an episode where they focus on Namaki and her inability to provocatively undress, just random and a waste of time. Her character development throughout both series is abysmal. Juggernauts voice is ear bleeding and his character persona is boring. Its almost as if they were making a parody of country farm Americans.

There is more revelation to the overall story which is great but it's still makes you feel like, ... "so what" and "well, what are you going to do about it". There is a sense of complexity on the Fire Force, The Evangelist, Sol Church, and Hajima Industries and how they all tie in together but it's still doesn't matter or hasn't shown any reason on why this is important at the moment.
A majority of the episodes were uneventful and didn't bring any real revelation to the story. It was just a plot within the series that was there. It felt very much like filler episodes until something serious happened. They had a few major plot revelations spread through the 24 eps which dulled the pacing.

Overall the series made very few improvements but from watching season 1 I had to see how season turned out and this is what I gathered.

I hate long reviews.
The world building of first season is expanded. The search for eight pillars continues, main villains - The Evangelists - have come onto the stage, many mysteries both from prior episodes and from current season still stay unanswered.

Shonen story. Animation is good, at times very good, I like the action and fights are pleasing to watch. Characters are typical shonen cast, each with his/her unique characteristic(1), but even then story progression uses them up too quickly.

tl;dr Typical shonen with highly incoherent story that targets viewers short attention spawn, and at times contradicts itself and prays on viewers awe/ignorance of ... rational thought.
