Gundam Build Metaverse

I rate this an eight on nostalgia, the sound of the ending... I cannot believe that ten years have ed since Gundam Build Fighters.

It is a bit rushed and of questionable quality, but I was happy to see those old characters reappearing. It may be a commercial for Gundam, but it brings back many memories and moments from the shows.

I thought there was going to be 24 eps or something, but only three? At first I was disappointed, but considering the extension and making an engaging plot, I'm happy to have those three episodes and be opened for a continuation.

It is a genuinely mixed feeling ... of wanting more, but at the same time, it was enough. Hope to see you in 10 years with any continuation.

To start things off, what is good with the anime. The animation is very distinct compared to other build series's and in my opinion, looks a little better. A friend of mine said that it looked worse to him but I guess it is up to personal interpretation. Secondly, the opening. The opening is by Back On who've also sang "nibun no ichi" from build fighters, "cerulean" from build fighters try and also the opening, "the last one" for it's ova , island wars. So needless to say, the opening did not disappoint. They have also included many distinct ost's for the respective build series ... characters. When an important character is seen in action, their respective ost's really increase the hype will likely give long term build series fans a little bit of nostalgia.

Now, I am aware that this anime is meant more for marketing and a good conclusion for the build series, but the plot at best is mediocre, but for a reason. As previously mentioned, the show is for marketing, hence this is simply a strategy to sell more plastic models by wrapping up as many new designs in 3 episodes as possible. Don't go into this show expecting insane amounts of character development and to build a deep and lasting connection with the characters because it is simply impossible. To top it off, the plot armor for Rio is insanity, it's almost as bad as the holy Jesus Yamato's plot armor, it is just that bad, the fights are pretty mediocre and again, I will repeat this again, THIS SHOW FOR MARKETING PURPOSES SO DONT EXPECT MUCH. ( though some of the mobile suit designs are albeit pretty cool ).

not really TLDR: Pretty good opening, pretty good animations, plot mediocre, fights were alright but it was nice seeing characters from old build series reunite together as that was pretty heartwarming for me. If you don't watch much build series shows or don't enjoy watching them, then this show is pretty much a waste of time, but if you did watch previous build series's, then might as well watch it as there are only 3 episodes and the characters all coming together in the metaverse is a little heartwarming for those OG's out there.

If you're a fan of Gundam Build Fighters and Divers, you will hate this.
If you're watching this after the Witch from Mercury, you will hate this.
If you're a fan of Gundam in general, will hate this.
This anime is complete nonsense and is just a cheap ad for Bandai's Gundam Metaverse, which was doomed to fail from the start. This is nothing but a big waste of time. The story is nonsensical and the fights are non-interesting and holds no weight. And even the timeline itself makes no sense. They brought back characters from Build Fighters ... and Divers for no reason at all, and they served no purpose. And most of the new characters are extremely boring.
