Seitokai Yakuindomo

On his first day of high school at the formerly all-girl's Ousai Private Academy, Takatoshi Tsuda is called out for his untidy uniform by the student council president Shino Amakusa. In apology for delaying Takatoshi for his first class—and stating that the group needs a male point of view to accommodate the arrival of boys at the school—Shino offers him the position of vice president of the student council. Though unwilling, Takatoshi finds himself appointed as the newest member of the student council having yet to even step foot inside the school building.

Takatoshi soon realizes that the other student council who are more than a little strange: President Shino, who is studious and serious in appearance, but actually a huge pervert, fascinated with the erotic and constantly making lewd jokes; the secretary Aria Shichijou, who may seem like a typical sheltered rich girl, but is just as risque as the president, if not more so; and finally, the treasurer Suzu Hagimura, who may act fairly normal, but has the body of an elementary school student and is extremely self-conscious of it. Surrounded by these colorful characters, the new vice president must now work through a nonstop assault of sexual humor and insanity.

[8.3/10] Seitokai is a rare combination of chill and degeneracy, and it works really well.
The comedy is fast-paced and creative, making it easy and fun to watch.
Jokes mostly rely on the dynamic of unhinged characters like Shino trying to be contained by modest ones like Tsuda. Shino being my personal favorite can best be described as entertaining, cute and most importantly completely nuts. The cast isn't big, but the few characters it has are fleshed out.

Iconic moments that stuck with me were Tsuda executing a header or the pros and cons of rain being discussed.

Visually, the show is slightly above average for it's time. You ... can tell that a lot of ion went into making it.
The only thing that could make this a bad experience is not being a fan of the humor. I, however, had a blast.

Mixed Feelings

This anime features silly characters with well-defined personalities, but these traits are not explored deeply and remain within a comfort zone. The story lacks depth, and all the humor revolves around sex. The jokes are mostly direct and explicit, with everything reduced to sexual innuendos and blatant sexual humor. There's no real progression in the storyline; it has its funny moments, but the overuse of sexual jokes becomes ridiculous and exaggerated. At no point does anything emotional happen, and there's no character development or story arc. Everything stays exactly the same as it was at the beginning. The music and animation are decent, but nothing ... stands out. Overall, it’s a very silly and forgettable anime.

It took me ages to complete this one and I barely laughed 4 times during the entire 13 episodes.

While I absolute love comedy SOL anime, this one completely missed the mark with this humor. I guess it was because the comedy party didn't really translate well, and maybe those who speak Japanese found it funny. But for me this was one of the most boring anime I've watched in my life. The animation quality was decent, but the characters were one dimensional and had zero depth, even compared to other similar anime. Though I'm a big fan of the Manzai style of ... comedy, this series didn't really execute it well. Our Main Character who's supposed to be the Tsukkomi didn't leave any kind of impression and was super bland, and most of the jokes were about sex, and that got repetitive real quick since they weren't even unique. Just the same 5 jokes repeated for 4 hours, that's how I'd sum up this anime.

Final Review - Not Funny, Humor doesn't really translate well, Too many weird sex jokes.
