Kizumonogatari I: Tekketsu-hen

During Koyomi Araragi's second year at Naoetsu Private High School, he has a chance encounter with Tsubasa Hanekawa, the top honor student in his class. When they strike up a conversation, Hanekawa mentions a shocking rumor: a vampire with beautiful blonde hair and freezing cold eyes has been seen lurking around town.

Happy to have made a new friend, Araragi writes off the rumor and goes about the rest of his evening in a carefree manner. However, on his way home, he stumbles across splatters of blood leading down the stairs to the subway. His curiosity pushes him to investigate further, so he follows the gruesome pools into the depths of the station.

When he arrives at the source of the blood, he is terrified by what he sees—the rumored blonde vampire herself, completely dismembered. After she calls for his help, Araragi must make a decision, one which carries the potential to change his life forever.

Tekketsu differs from Bakemonogatari in the sense that it doesn’t place dialogue proficiency at its crux; instead, it’s more concerned with setting the narrative and revealing the relationship between Koyomi and Kiss-shot. It’s a visual feast lathered with experimental shots and an amalgam of Shaft’s signature quirks, employing symmetrical architectural layouts with the 2.35:1 aspect ratio to produce wide shot compositions. Akiyuki Shinbou and Tatsuya Oishi’s direction is gripping even with the film’s short length, as the storyboards (that the latter worked extensively on for several years) are terrifically creative, involving background structures and intertitles between dialogue and strategically placing jump cuts without damaging the ... flow of conversation. The animation is lively, comprising of eclectic art styles used metaphorically or for comedic effect, aptly complemented by the sound design that is just as innovative as everything else in the film. Tekketsu is a brilliant introduction to the trilogy that marks the beginning of the facetious Monogatari Series, an extravagance of visual mastery.

Mixed Feelings

First of all, this is my first anime review on MAL and I apologize for my broken English.

I watched this anime very randomly. Frankly, I didn't like the intro of the anime very much and I thought it didn't appeal to me so I watched it at x1.5 speed to make it end quickly. But in of its content, I can say that I found the background, character designs, animation and narration of this anime beautiful. I can even say that I liked how the characters expressed their moods, feelings, moments of thought and reactions in a different and interesting way.

Okay... In general, this ... anime movie was a little strange and a little interesting.

TLDR
-The animation is inconsistent
-Fights are anticlimactic
-Hanekawa
-Ending sucks (for this movie and the other 2 movies)

(kizu is short for Kizumonogatari.)
Shaft did not need to strectch a it for taht long.
its unbelievable how a backgrounds at some points were more interesting than Hanekawa character... and it was really unneccessary for hanekawa to be sexualised so much??!!
the fanservice (throughout the 3 movies) are so garbage like its even worse than those bad isekai or terrible harem animes...
...
I feel like the movie could of been a lot better if hanekawa was literally removed from the 3 kizu movies
if they fleshed out Shinobu's character/reactions etc and removed hanekawa, which would mean no terrible irrelevant fanservice scenes the 3 kizu movies could of been bumped up in rating at least by me.
also idk how the 3 kizu movies r rated so highly, its strange how so mnay peopel have rated such a trash jumble of movies this high....

i dont understand why they stretched kizumonogatari for 3 movies?!
LIKE i cannot even anything memorable and I am writing (wrote) this review after watching all if these movies and like the normal Monogatari series is way better or just even the first season because the characters act/behave consistenly in character. One ep of Bakemonotagari is way better than watching 3 dreadful kizumonogatari movies imo...
fyi i have watched all of Monotagari so... the character and art inconsistencies from the rest of the anime, are a big indicator (for me at least) of how bad these 3 movies are
