FAQ - Boy I should really update this huh

Q: I came here from a review you wrote and have a question.
A: I'm glad you read the review, however all my reviews I wrote over 5 years ago and don't really the thought processes behind them anymore.

Q: Why so many dropped anime?
A: I stop watching the anime I don't like. This is the main reason why I'm still here after 10 13 years: I try to mostly only watch stuff I enjoy. I used to try not drop anime. That was a bad idea. I still have the scars. You should follow this advice.

Q: Why rate all your dropped anime?
A: I would forget what I thought of it otherwise. At least if I plonked a 5/10 or 2/10 I would know I just thought it was average or I thought it was pretty awful. They do start to blend together after a while you know.

Q: Your taste sux
A: I know

ohh my god, just watched the first ep of the irregular at magic high - so bland, fights practically skipped most of it was flat pans and lip flapping with zeroooo other animation. - so i checked out a review to know if it was worth all them episodes - and lmfao after a serious long entrenched review of yours, you end it with the directions of making a raspberry sound and i just fking lost it XD - that was great lmfao, perfection
and I also believe it, cause episode 1 had massive red flags that was the kinda show it was gonna be.

P.S - love the fact you got holo on your top ten lol, she is legit was of the realest female characters anime has to offer, unlike magic highs list of people lol

damnn you have watched 700 animes that's more than 3 months worth of time (assuming all the animes you watched only had 12 eps)

Hey I love your Black Heaven review. And I know you wrote it like 10 years ago but I need to ask you what you thought of the ending. I really felt like the whole thing with Yoko and the massive crowd appearing out of nowhere felt off in a lot of ways. Not just because it's pretty much impossible to have happened, but it clashes thematically with the whole mid-life crisis / head in the clouds thing that the show has going for it. Personally I think that maybe he just imagined it or was wishing for it, and played the ending song as if he was playing it to all these people that he wanted to express himself to. The song is also quite sad and has a feeling of desperation to it. The scene when he makes the call juxtaposes his situation and mindset with reality and makes him seem completely delusional, and I don't see why Yoko would suddenly turn around and run to him straightaway. There's also no scenes with Yoko or the fans that give much of a clue that they actually are there. I think that IF Yoko showed up, she showed up alone (or possibly with just Gen). Her finally embracing and validating Oji's youthful dream is satisfying in a way, but I don't really know what to make of this. I absolutely loved the show up to this point and my favourite scenes were between the family , and you describe it all so well that I think we're on the same page when it comes to these things.

"My biggest complaint though is how I felt it started to lose sight of the balance it created between the real world and the space opera right at the end. I get what it was going for and how Oji had come to with this dream by the end, but I felt it didn’t quite get the balance right the same way the rest of the series did."

Please, if you have any thoughts on this or could elaborate more on what you wrote above, I would love to hear from you. Thank you.

Edit: By the way I know that the whole space thing doesn't really matter in the end. But I really want to resolve this point because it ties into the themes and emotions very deeply. The question is basically: did Yoko come running back and thereby validate what he has been trying to do, which made it possible for him to finally move on OR did he make that journey on his own? Him playing that song is essentially accepting reality and moving on with his life, no longer being stuck in the past. I think it's more satisfying if he finally takes that step on his own, when he realizes that simply staying in the past and repeating the old song over and over no longer works. If he needed Yoko to approve of him then I think that undermines the development and theme a bit, but perhaps it works in favour of the relationship themes about ing and understanding the dreams of your loved ones.
