Oh my god. And I thought 243 was a lot.
Sounds fun. I definitely want to visit Seoul in the near future, especially with my ongoing Korean studies now. I wonder how different it is compared to Japan since the two are pretty different cultures, or at least that's how it seems based on K-Dramas I've watched.
This is probably the latest reply ever. Sorry about that!
I'll be doing part-time work at first (probably something easily available like an English tutor or a server at a pub or something of the sort) and then transitioning into a full-time career afterwards, ideally as a business translator/interpreter for a Japanese company. That's why I'm all signed up to take the JLPT N1 test in a month.
Did you ever live in South Korea, or visit there a lot due to family? I'm interested in traveling there for a few weeks some time this year or next.
What are you studying at grad school?
Also I've been good, just going though adulthood and finding out what I want to do with life. You know the normal. How about you?
What about you?
Tuition costs I pay directly to my university (so no exchange rates), but living costs are all going to be in yen. I may look for a part-time job when I'm there-- even 12 hours a week would make me like 50k yen per month ($646 CAD), and that would make life significantly easier. And then there's my two-month break where I could go up to 30hrs/week.
I decided to study abroad instead of transferring to UBC. Can't transfer exchange student credits, so I'd be behind another year, plus it would cost far more money when I just want to graduate as fast and with as little debt as possible.
Why would you renounce your Korean citizenship? Seems like a nicer place than any western country, honestly.
And hey, at least you're majoring in something useful unlike me.
