By the way, I've been memorizing ~380 Chinese characters after reading Instant Japanese. As you can see, basic Japanese is made up of hiragana and katakana (Japanized foreign words in layman ). Instant Japanese doesn't cover kanji, but it's great for beginners.

Mainland China uses significantly less than 60,000 Chinese characters that Yamato period Japan imported.

Sorry for the late reply, but yeah it was. Working on it even now, making little tweeks here and there.

For these two years, I've also been busy creating a library-type card catag system for my collection. I know I've got MAL, but I wanted a physical copy that I could whip out at a moment's notice. I think it's got pretty good detail. I write them down the info on index cards and file them alphabetically.

It lists the title, what kind of series it is (TV, OVA, Movie, etc.), how many episodes of the series I have, if the series is complete or not, the main genre and sub-genres of the series, what it contains (violence, language, naughty stuff, etc.), the age recommendation, the year it was produced, what animation studio produced it, and where it's located in my collection. And on the back of the card, I write a brief summary of what the series is about. *whew* That was kinda long-winded of me.........

Still, if I have a friend or guest over, it's quicker to use the cards than to boot up the laptop, log on to MAL, and search for a series.

Well enough. I was so burned out from being on MAL every day, I just couldn't do it anymore. I'll just take it slower now.
