This stack only includes non-sequel TV anime—no movies, OVAs, or continuing series here.
This isn’t a list based on MAL scores, popular opinion, or what the hive mind thinks is "objectively good." These picks are entirely my personal favorites, based on what I’ve actually watched and enjoyed this season.
The list is ranked by enjoyment—top = most enjoyed, and it goes down from there. That said, I still consider everything here worth checking out. Just because something is lower doesn’t mean it’s bad—it’s just a relative ranking of what clicked with me.
Also, for full transparency: the ranking isn't necessarily tied to the scores I've given each show. It’s purely about how much fun I had watching them.
One more thing: Spring 2025 has been a pretty rough season for anime overall. If you've got older shows sitting in your PTW, honestly, I'd generally recommend diving into those first. But if you're curious about what (new) stood out for me this season, here’s the list. Also generally speaking, my favorites here will be the ones you should watch if you do not have a lot of time (Explanation far down below).
I’ll update this stack if I come across anything else this season that deserves a spot, or if anything here ends up becoming disappointing thus gets removed.

Really a huge letdown for the season, which is mainly just sad. (Score: 6/10). I could make a review.... BUT I found someone else's review that really hits everything that I would say about it & I like it.

WOW, I cannot describe my thoughts on this besides... DRAMA. This absolutely has a story that has more plot holes then a street sign in rural America (The joke is that rednecks shoot street signs on rural backroads if they are bored), not only that but the entire character cast is generally dislikable. I was gonna make a review, but someone else made a really good one that describes all the flaws and the stupid story.

I am adding a Mark on each anime on this list with a "FAV".
If you see this on any animes description here, it is a favorite of mine, and is worthy of possibly even going into your favorites list or maybe into your 10 favorites on your profile. I will only mark this on animes I have watched 5+ episodes of, which generally speaking is the point you can get a good guess that an anime is "Good" or "GOATed".
That said, it is an opinion.

This is the greatest (Non-Sequel) anime of the season by FAR. If anything out of the list should be watched, then it should be this. Watched up to Episode 10 at the time of writing, and this anime is a masterpiece, and is absolute cinema.
Just watch it.

Rock wa Lady no Tashinami deshite 3x3a

Really a immaculate anime, I have less qualms with this than I have with Bocchi the Rock. That said they both have a completely different style they go for. Bocchi = anxiety driven progressive rock, Lady's Modesty = Punk girl "maidcore" rock.
If I was gonna choose two animes for you to watch this season then it would be this one and "Too perfect Saint", both are ridiculously good.
Also updated score from a 9/10 to a 10/10.

Much better than "I Parry Everything" in every way.
Well besides the MC being in his mid 40s and having girls who are at youngest teenagers or at oldest early 20s all flirting with him.

After watching episode 5, this evened out a lot more in quality, making it quite the enjoyable watch at the moment. Still have a little unease though since this really could easily go back down in quality. Upped my rating from a 7.5/10 to a 8/10 and moved it up a few spots too.

Actually one of my most recommended of the season. I find this to just be straight up fun to watch. Highly recommend.

Watched up to episode 4 so far and it is still pretty good, but has gone a little stale since it seems to have a similar plot each episode. Still great, and I recommend, though it has a peculiar humor that some people may not like.

Controversial pick here! I actually quite enjoy it (More than most on this list)
I personally think this one is not NEARLY as bad as what people say it is.
Absolutely not worth a rating in the 5s.
Reasons people hate on it & why it's rating is low:
1. Mediocre Animation (Isn't the same visual quality as it's source material), nor is it great for 2025.
2. People wanted a "better studio" to make this adaptation (Definitely can see that it would help).
3. Adaptation isn't perfect... (I never read the source material so IDK)
4. The trend is to dog on this anime, and hate on it.
Reasons this is good:
1. Not reading source material- I never read the source material so I can view it from an entirely unbiased perspective, and I found the story to be really decent.
2. The basis for the story is relatively good and interesting, and better than most isekai animes I have watched.
I realistically rate it a 7 at the moment.
But I actually rated it a 10 on my profile because this is massively underrated since it's being dogged on. A 5.7 (At time of writing) is stupidly low.

Still think it's a 7/10, by far there is worse anime than this in the 6.xx number range. I might look at the manhwa some time to better view why people hate on this, since as an anime this doesn't seem THAT bad. I did move it down one spot though.

Great slice of life anime, it also has romance undertones since it seems to be based on a romance Visual Novel.
